The NSA, journalists’ computers, your data center…each has a large bull’s-eye painted on their backs as all are targets for hackers and DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks. From the mischievous pranksters to serious criminals, hackers, malware and other exploitation of vulnerabilities are costing companies billions of dollars. Research is progressively revealing how businesses are combating this by using technology to fight technology.
A recent report by leading market analyst Infonetics found that DDoS prevention systems are the No. 1 security platform in which service provider respondents plan to invest over the next year.
The report, Cloud and Data Center Security Strategies and Vendor Leadership: Global Service Provider Survey, found that data center security is spiking in response to recent massive security attacks.
“Providers are being forced to shore up their networks and develop innovative security solutions to protect themselves and generate revenue,” noted Jeff Wilson, principal analyst for security at Infonetics Research.
In the survey, data centers and cloud operations managers were asked about what strategies they planned for deploying security and protecting themselves from attacks. Here’s what the respondents reported:
Vocalcom provides just such a solution. Our virtual call center software solution, powered by Hermes Cloud, is natively built in Salesforce’s CRM environment. This elegant solution gives data center managers the armor they need to fight off attacks, and best of all, it does so in a cost-effective and reliable way. The cloud-based solution allows companies to monitor their entire operation and forestall security breaks. The technology also allows for future growth without having to rely on fragile hardware systems or hackable on-site software – saving both money and anxiety.
